Alanis Morisette

1.  Thankyou:We do get our daily supply of antibiotics from meat, this may be what she is referring to.What is consequence but karma and if we do not become disillusioned with what we are doing then how would we find something better? In order to meditate we must become silent which can be hard to do  and death is NOT the end as is tought here in the West.   She did go to India and found spiritual solace there, here are the lyrics. They did close a city street off to do this because she was nude but this was done for a reason( don't worry you cant see anything you shouldn't):

How about getting off of these antibiotics
How about stopping eating when I'm filled up
How about them transparent dangling carrots
How about that ever elusive kudo

Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you thank you silence

How about me not blaming you for everything
How about me enjoying the moment for once
How about how good it feels to finally forgive you
How about grieving it all one at a time

Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you thank you silence

The moment I let go of it was
The moment I got more than I could handle
The moment I jumped off of it was
The moment I touched down

How about no longer being masochistic
How about remembering your divinity
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out
How about not equating death with stopping

Thank you India
Thank you providence
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you nothingness
Thank you clarity
Thank you thank you silence

yeah yeah
ahh ohhh
ahhh ho oh
ahhh ho ohhhhhh
yeaahhhh yeahh

When I was Catholic the priests would terrorize you with hell for sins. I thank God for this terror and my frailty that caused me to be imperfect and the disillusionment with the church that followed. I thank God for the spirituality of India and karma which is consequence of both good and bad deeds in the measure of the deeds comitted. I now have consequence or knowledge of karma so i no longer blame an outside devil or someone else for things that happen. We are all the same before God, God can see beyond our exterior shell to the soft interior, no one or no nationality is better than another. when we let go of ourselves or rather our ego we gain everything. Now death is no longer the end as Christianity indicates, clarity is what we can have when we open up our heart and see the truth and being thankful is also very important. When we surrender we gain everything, but surrender is not trusting out of fear or punishment but trusting love. When I finally let go of the attachement to religion and gave myself permission to learn about Hinduism I found myself learning about a spirituality that is far deeper and big enough that in several lifetimes I could not learn it all--at the same time I felt very grounded like it really is based on something solid. In a sence I jumped off from something very familiar but where I landed was more solid and grounded and overwhelming at the same time. She likely flew to India but i found India by riding the subways and trains in Chicago.
